Delhi Education Minister honours teachers with state teachers awards

New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) The Delhi Government today awarded several teachers with the State Teachers awards for their meritorious service in the field of education.

The teachers were honoured at a function at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium, chaired by Education Minister Aravinder Singh Lovely.

Among the teachers honoured with the award was the principal of the Suraj Kanya Shikshalaya Kamal Kanta Jaitley.

Speaking on the occasion, the state education Minister said the awards were a way to recognise the significant contribution of teachers in shaping the future of the country by imparting knowledge and value based education to the children, who are tomorrow's policy makers.

Among others present at the function were several officials of the state education department and many Congress MLAs.
