Death sentence for raping and subsequent killing of minor

Sasaram, Sep 5 (UNI) A local fast track court today awarded capital punishment to a person for raping and murdering of a seven- year-old girl.

Judge Umesh Chandra Mishra sentenced accused Sikandar Ansari to death after convicting him.

Ziru Ansari, father of the convict, who was accused in the case for suppressing the evidence, had been acquitted as allegation against him was not found to be true by the court.

According to the charges, the victim was kidnapped by the convict when she was playing in front of her house at Kawath village under Dawath police station in Rohtas district on March 5, 1999. Later, she was killed after being raped by by Sikandar.
