DaimlerChrysler to tie up with Sutlej Motors for building buses

Jalandhar, Sept 5 (UNI) DaimlerChrysler AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz, is planning to enter a cooperation with Sutlej Motors Ltd (SML) to build bus bodies.

A statement issued here today stated that the two companies intended to build bus bodies on Mercedes-Benz chassis manufactured by DaimlerChrysler India Pvt Ltd (DCIL), which is a 100 per cent subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler AG.

The collaboration of DailmerChrysler and SML encompasses the development, production, marketing, sales and after sales of luxury rear engine coaches, the statement said.

The Mercedes-Benz chassis would be manufactured by DCIL and the body would be built by SML. DCIL then would handle sales and after sales of the coaches. The first vehicles would roll off the line in the first quater of next year.
