Congress deceiving Telangana people: Venkaiah

Bangalore, Sep 5 (UNI) BJP vice President Venkaiah Naidu today accused the Congress of deceiving the people of Telangana by backtracking from forming separate Telangana state.

Addressing newspersons here, Mr Naidu alleged that the Congress, which had promised to carve out a separate Telangana state during the last election to woo voters, was now adopting a different stand on the issue.

''The Congress promised to create separate Telangana state and fought elections joining hands with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). Later, they failed to keep up their promise,'' he alleged.

''UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi had constituted a Committee under the leadership of Pranab Mukherjee three years back which never met.

Now, the Congress is talking of leaving the matter to Ms Gandhi and constituting a second State Reorganisation Committee,'' he said.
