Centre commits to accelerate development in Bihar

Samastipur, Sep 5 (UNI) Senior RJD leader and party MP Alok Kumar Mehta today said the United Progressive Alliance(UPA) government at the Centre was committed to development of Bihar.

Addressing a function here, Mr Mehta said the pace of development during the UPA government had improved and backward states like Bihar were being given all sorts of assistance.

Railway Minister Lalu Prasad had also cleared a number of pending railway projects for the state while work on some of these had already been initiated, he added.

Mr Mehta castigated the ruling NDA's 'failure' in improving the law and order situation and said the state overnment had not addressed the public grievances as well.
