Around 100 stranded fishermen rescued

Alappuzha, Sep 5 (UNI) Nearly 100 fishermen, who were stranded in high seas due to inclement weather, were rescued by Navy and Coast Guard off the coast here.

The district information office said fishermen in 27 country boats from Alappuzha, Cherthala and Trikkunnappuzha were stranded in high seas since this morning due to strong winds and heavy downpour.

Four fishermen from Cherthala, meanwhile were injured when their boat capsized in the sea.
