Arcelor Mittal buys gas distributor

New Delhi, Sept 01: Steelmaker Arcelor Mittal plans to buy most of German gas distributor Saar Ferngas AG from coal miner RAG AG for nearly USD 500 mn, the companies said Friday.

Arcelor Mittal said the purchase of 76.88 percent of the largest gas supplier in the German states of Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate for 367 million euros would fit well with its energy network in the region.
