7/11 accused to file affidavit on transfer of case
Mumbai, Sep 5 (UNI) A local court today directed the accused in the 7/11 Mumbai suburban train blasts to file an affidavit tomorrow on their demand that the case be transferred from the present MCOCA court to any other court.
The accused petitioned before civil and sessions principal judge Ashok Bhangale to get their case transferred to any other court as they did not expect justice from the the present court of Judge Mridula Bhatkar.
On the last occasion, the accused had told the MCOCA court that they neither had faith in it nor did they want it to conduct the trials.
According to the prosecution, the accused -- Kamal Ansari, Dr Tanvir Ansari, Faisal Sheikh, Ehtesjham Siddique, Mohammed Majid Shafi, Mohammed Ali Aslam Sheikh, Mohammed Sajid, Abdul Wahiduddin, Muzammil Sheikh, Sohail Sheikh, Zameer Sheikh, Naveed Hussain and Asif Khan Basir Khan had executed the plan to explode seven bombs at seven different places in a span of 11 minutes between 1824 hrs and 1835 hrs.
On November 30 last year, the prosecution had filed a chargesheet running into over 10,000 pages against the accused who are presently in judicial custody. The Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) had also filed a supplementary chargesheet against all the accused on April 9 this year.
The blasts on the suburban trains on July 11 last year claimed over 180 lives besides injuring over 700 people.
