40 Australian education institutions to recruitIndian students

Mumbai, Sep 5 (UNI) A group of 40 educational institutions from Australia will be in India from September 8 to 21 on a student recruitment programme.

With nearly 40,000 Indian student enrolments in Australia in 2006-07, India is the second biggest source country for it.

IDP Education supported by the Australian Trade Commission (ATC) is organising a country wide student recruitment programme covering seven cities.

The Australian student recruitment programme for Mumbai will be held on September 15 at Hilton Towers. Interviews for students will be conducted on site and on the spot admission offers will be made.

The ATC is also organising information seminars on 'Education Opportunities in Business, Media and Communication, Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism in Australia' on September 15. These seminars will offer prospective students an overview of the education and training opportunities and career pathways in business and media and communications.

According to a release issued by the Australian High Commission, with Indian student enrolments at over 35 per cent per annum, Australian institutions offer distinct competitive advantages for Indian students that include excellence in education, internationally recognised qualifications, flexible education delivery, value for money, renowned lifestyle, multi-cultural environment, travel and work opportunities in Australia.

The participating institutions include ACU National, Bond University, Box Hill Institute, Canberra Institute of Technology, Charles Darwin University, Charles Stuart University, Curtin University of Technology, University of South Australia, University of Western Sydney, Deakin University and Swinburne University of Technology to name a few, the release added.
