YSR reviews arrangements for Ramzan and Ganesh festivals
Hyderabad, Sep 4 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the officials concerned to make fool-proof arrangements for the smooth and peaceful conduct of Ramzan and Ganesh Chaturthi festivals.
Reviewing the arrangements with the officials and ministers here, Dr Reddy said the government would take all precautions and tighten the security, including setting up of CCTVs at all sensitive areas to avoid any untoward incidents.
He said, ''both the festivals should reflect the unity and harmony between all sections of the society.'' Asking the departments concerned to ensure the supply of quality rice, wheat, additional quota of sugar and kerosene during the festival, the Chief Minister directed DGP M A Basith to make elaborate surveillance arrangements for day and night at 'Ganesh pandals' and processions.
The meeting also decided to allow all shop owners and business persons to keep the establishments open till night during Ramzan in the city, and other important places in the state. Muslim employees working in all government departments could leave their office at 1600 hours during the Ramzan month, an official release said.
