Woman dies in Shimla after suffering severe burn injuries

Shimla, Sep 4 (UNI) A woman daily wager with the Himachal Pradesh's Public Works Department (PWD) died in a hospital here hours today she suffered severe burn injuries while cooking in here house at Pagli area of the town last night, police sources said.

Maya Devi, 28, suffered severe burn injures while trying to douse fire that begab after the kerosense oil can lyiing close to the stove spilled, while she was cooking last night.

The sources said she had suffered over 95 per cent burn injuries while trying to douse the fire, which might had injured her three children and her husband, Puran.

The woman was rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) where she succumbed to her burn injures today, the sources said.

The sources, however, ruled out any foul play in the incident, saying it was only an accidental fire.
