US tourist among five killed and four injured in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 4 (UNI) A tourist from United States was among five people killed and four others injured in the Kashmir valley and Ladakh region overnight, official sources said.

They said a tourist Robinson Michel Forbes, with passport number 016499132 and a resident of Silver fox Lane Reston, USA, was found dead in his hotel room at Leh in Ladakh region this morning.

Mr Robinson was staying in the hotel since September 2, they said.

The sources said that body of one Manzoor Ahmad Tak was fished out from Ahrabal Nallah in south Kashmir last night.

A police spokesman said a motorcyclist Ghulam Hassan Bhat was killed on the spot when a speeding army vehicle hit him at Palpora crossing on Srinagar-Jammu national highway.

A tipper hit and critically wounded a boy Irshad Ahmad Teli at Tailwanpora, Lolab, in the frontier district of Kupwara. He was rushed to hospital where he died.

One Ghulam Rasool Lone was killed on the spot after a vehicle hit him at Kulgam in south Kashmir.

Three other persons were injured in different road accidents in the valley today. The injured were hospitalised, he said.
