TDP activist hacked to death

Guntur, Sep 4 (UNI) A Telugu Desam Party (TDP) activist was hacked to death at Veldurthi village near here late last night.

According to police, J Lakshma Reddy (40) was accused in the massacre of seven Congress members in 2000. He was returning to his native town Macharla on his motorcycle after attending a wedding in nearby Veldurthi village.

His friend, who was on the pillion, said Lakshma Reddy, realising that he was being followed, raced the two wheeler but lost balance and fell down. The assailants who were chasing him hacked him to death with swords and sickles.
