Siddaramaiah demands white paper on various projects
Mysore, Sep 4 (UNI) Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah today demanded a white paper on the various projects announced recently by the JD(S)-BJP coalition Government in the State.
Addressing a press conference here, he said that in the last one month, the State Government had organised massive programmes for taking up various projects across the State. Without mobilising the necessary resources, the Government had been announcing programmes and projects worth Rs 3,000 crore. The Government should clarify whether the projects had administrative approval. It was necessary that the people of the State know the facts about the projects, he added.
Mr Siddaramaiah alleged that the Government had been using the programme launch functions to criticise the Opposition parties.
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy utilised the platform to criticise him (Mr Siddaramaiah) only.
Referring to the ban on sale of arrack in the State, he said the condition of the people, particularly in rural areas, had not improved following the ban as they have started spending their entire daily wages on costly drinks. This was evident from the fact that the sale of Indian Made Foreign Liquor had crossed 26 lakh cases from 13 lakh cases in July.
