Shivpal Singh Yadav among 7 SP leaders held
Lucknow, Sep 4 (UNI) Samajwadi Party General Secretary and former Uttar Pradesh PWD minister Shivpal Singh Yadav was today arrested while he was leading a delegation to the trouble-torn Tanda town of Ambedkarnagar district.
Mr Yadav was arrested along with his party colleagues, including former state minister Naresh Agarwal, Ambika Chaudhary, Ahmad Hassan, Avdesh Prasad, Arvind Singh and Chote Lal, sources said.
On August 24, trouble engulfed Ambedkarnagar district following violent clashes between two communities, resulting in the death of one person.
The SP leaders were later released.

Chaudhary
said
''We
were
only
going
to
meet
the
victims
and
not
to
make
a
capital
out
of
the
issue.''
Denouncing
the
Mayawati-led
BSP
regime
in
UP,
he
alleged
''The
state
government
has
so
far
failed
on
every
front.
The
SP
will
continue
its
fight
against
all
wrongs
committed
during
the
present
regime.''
