One held, copies of book on Rajiv assassination seized
Chennai, Sep 4 (UNI) Airport police here have arrested a Kuala Lumpur bound passenger and seized 20 copies of a book on the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi written by former CBI Director D R Karthikeyan.
Airport sources told UNI that the parcel containing 20 books was seized from one Suresh (27), while he was about to board a Jet Airways flight to Kuala Lumpur last night.
The book titled 'Triumph of Truth,' running into about 300 pages, contained from start-to-finish the assassination conspiracy and its aftermath in a capsule form.
On interrogation, Suresh, hailing from Mannargudi in Tamil Nadu, did not give convincing replies as to why he was carrying so many copies of the book and for whom they were meant.
Airport police arrested him and handed him over to the Q-branch Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar, who was probing his possible links with any terror outfits, including the banned LTTE, which was responsible for the killing of Rajiv Gandhi at Sriperumbudur in May 1991.
A special team of Q-branch police had left for Mannargudi to verify the antecedents of Suresh and investigate further.
