NSM on the lines of IIM in Patna

Patna, Sep 04 (UNI) Students aspiring for a career in management will soon have an opportunity to realise their dreams as National School of Management(NSM), is all set to start functioning here from the next academic session.

According to official sources, admissions to the proposed management school would be made on the basis of scorecard of Combined Admission Test(CAT) to be conducted by IIM-Ahmedabad every year in the last week of November or first week of December.

A former professor of IIM Ahmedabad, V Mukunda Das, would be the first Director of NSM.

In the beginning, fifty seats would be made available to the students aspiring to obtain Post Graduate Diploma in Buisness Management(PGDBM) equivalent to MBA an degree.

The proposed NSM would also start a Parallel Executive Development Programme(EDP) for the working its professionals.

The Bihar government had already given approval for the proposed school.There are almost 100 Management Institutes in the country which are considering CAT score card for the admission in their management programmes.

Incidentally, the state government had also claimed in the past to get an IIM and proposed to offer land at Ara.
