Man nabbed for raping minor daughter

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, Sep 4 (UNI) Police today arrested a 35-year-old man on the charge of raping his minor daughter at Ayyanpettai in this district.

Police said Raghu, a coolie, and his wife Kumari had been quarrelling with each other for a long time, following which the latter had left for her mother's place in the same locality with their four children.

Yesterday, Raghu had asked Kumari to come back home. After she refused to live with him, Raghu took his children, including his 12-year-old daughter, home. There, in an inebriated condition, he raped his daughter and told her not to disclose it to anyone.

Based on a complaint from Kumari at the all women police station at Kancheepuram, police arrested Raghu.

The girl was sent to the Chengalpattu Government Hospital for medical test.
