Mah Govt to implement SC's orders on loudspeaker ban

Pune, Sep 4 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today said the Supreme Court's order of banning the use of loudspeaker after 2200 hrs will be implemented.

Answering queries of reporters if the state government would relax the order in view of the Ganeshotsav festivities, Mr Patil, who holds the Home portfolio, made it clear that the state government would be implementing the apex court's order, but the repspective Police Commissioners can use their discretion in relaxing the order by two hours on any two days of the festival.

To a question regarding security during the ten-day festival beginning September 15, he said all security measures have been taken to ensure a safe festival and added that no policeman will be granted leave during the period.

Mr Patil was in the city to inaugurate the 5th Maharashtra State Police duty Meet.
