Khanduri to take oath as legislator tomorrow

Dehradun, Sep 4 (UNI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Maj Gen (Retd) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri will tomorrow take oath as a member of the State Assembly at Vidhan Sabha.

Official media in-charge Devendra Bhasin said Assembly Speaker Harbans Kapoor would administer the oath to Gen Khanduri at 1600 hrs.

Mr Khanduri had won Dhumakot Assembly bypoll defeating his nearest Congress rival Surendra Singh Negi by a margin of 14,171 votes.

He is presently Lok Sabha MP from Pauri in Uttarakhand. He would submit his resignation as an MP soon, within the stipulated 14 days, Mr Bhasin added.
