Bellary, Sep 4 (UNI) The Karnataka Government was all geared up to meet the challenges posed by terrorists in the state, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said today.

Speaking to newspersons here, he said adequate steps had been taken by the state government following the recent twin blasts in Hyderabad, in which 44 persons were killed and scores injured. The state had taken measures to strengthen the police department, especially the Intelligence wing.

''We will not allow terrorists to succeed in Karnataka. Our police force has taken necessary steps,'' he added.

Mr Kumaraswamy said that since Bangalore had attracted world attention by wooing IT and BT majors, it might come under the terrorists' Radar. The state government had taken several measures to stop them.

Referring to the announcement of elections to local bodies in the State, he said the results would not have any bearing on the performance of the JD(S)-BJP coalition Government in the state and it could not be taken as a referendum.
