India asks Bangladesh to cooperate against terrorism
New Delhi, Sep 4 (UNI) India today asked Bangladesh to cooperate in tackling terrorism being sponsored from Bangla territory and has conveyed information to Dhaka about terrorists operating from there.
External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee told reporters on the sidelines of a conference here that during the Home Secretary-level talks recently, India had handed over to Bangladesh information about terrorists operating from its soil.
''We seek their cooperation,'' Mr Mukherjee said while replying to a question whether India had taken up with Bangladesh the issue of the reported arrest of Sharifuddin, an activist of the Harkat-ul-Jehad-i-Islami (HUJI), who is suspected to be involved in the August 25 Hyderabad blasts in which about 44 people were killed and several others injured.
