Hyd blasts: Bangladesh woman student arrested in Vellore
Chennai, Sep 4 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Director General of Police P Rajendran today said the Andhra Pradesh police have arrested a Bangladeshi student in Vellore in connection with the August 25 twin bomb blasts in Hyderabad.
Talking to newspersons here, he said a special team from Hyderabad, investigating the blasts case has arrested secured her for her alleged involvement in the twin blast case.
Preliminary inquiries have revealed that she was a native of Bangladesh with a student visa valid till 2008.
Initial reports suggested that the young woman was a student of the Christian Medical College in Vellore. However, inquiries revealed that she was a third year BA (English Literature) student at the Auxilium College in Vellore.
Meanwhile, a Vellore report said her house at Gandhi Nagar in Katpadi was sealed.
Police sources said the woman Lajjajini had hired the room for a monthly rent of Rs 500. She was said to be staying in the house, near the college, with her brother.
The twin blasts that rocked 'Lumbini Park' and 'Gokul Chat' in the heart of Hyderabad had claimed 43 lives and left many more injured.
