Hundreds suffer from a mysterious disease in Kendrapara
Kendrapara, Sep 4 (UNI) Panic gripped as about a hundred people suffered from mysterious fever in Masakani and Kurusia Patalipanka villages under Mahakalapada block of Kendrapara district for the last five days.
The victims complained of high fever, joint pain and swelling of hands and arms, the symptoms of chickenguniya.
Kendrapara CDMO Usha Tripathy said a medical team has been sent from the district headquarters hospital to the area which had collected blood samples from the patients and sent them to Cuttack for confirmation.
The disease would be known only after the reports come.
Around 300 villagers of Badakula and Karanja in the river locked Dasamauji area suffered from suspected chickenguniya in October last.
