Jammu, Sep 4 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir High Court has quashed the appointment of former minister and MP's daughter as teaching guide under the Rehbar-e-Taleem scheme and issued directions for the appointment of the petitioner within one month.

In a judgment issued yesterday, Justice Nirmal Singh observed that the petitioner Kuldeep Raj had been denied the post despite him being the most suitable candidate for the vacancy of teaching guide in primary school, Karkala.

The appointment of MP Madan Lal's daughter was challenged by petitioner on various grounds, which proved that the VLC (official respondent) had made the appointment illegally and contrary to the provisions of the scheme.

The court also observed that MP's daughter (private respondent) neither belonged to the said area nor had appeared for interview before the VLC. The VLC had wrongly showed the post lying vacant in the primary school, Karkala, whereas the post against which the private respondent was selected belonged to the parimary school, Dhoke.

Justice Singh further noted that the entries in the documents had been made at the later stages to make the appointment in favour of former minister's daughter.
