Haryana to spend Rs 8.81 crore on SC students
Chandigarh, Sep 4 (UNI) The Haryana government has earmarked Rs 8.81 crore to facilitate Scheduled Caste students studying in classes 9th to 12th.
While announcing this today, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said the government has earmarked the money to implement three new schemes to provide dictionaries, school bags and jerseys, shoes and socks free of cost to SC students.
The Chief Minister said that the implementation of these three new schemes would benefit over 1.05 lakh students belonging to the SC category in the state.
Mr Hooda said that the government had also taken a special initiative to equip all girls' senior secondary schools with computer labs during this year. As many as 222 such schools have already been given 10 computers each at a total cost of Rs 14.87 crore, the Chief Minister said.
