Governor rues bad roads, deteriorating air-connectivity
Kohima, Sep 4 (UNI) Nagaland Governor K Sankaranarayan today expressed concern over the pathetic conditions of roads and deteriorating air-connectivity to the Nagaland Capital.
Talking to mediapersons, the Governor declared that the development of Nagaland was his mission and asked when the rest of the country was enjoying good communication systems why should the people of Nagaland and the Northeast suffer? ''If the best road was National Highway 39 stretching between Dimapur and Kohima, then one could only imagine the condition of other roads in the state, specially in the remote areas,'' he said.
Nagaland gets more rain and the road should be constructed with superior technology to withstand the downpour, he pointed out.
The existing smaller aircraft operating in the region should also be replaced by bigger ones like Boeing and Airbus, he iterated and said he had personally taken up the matter with the Civil Aviation Ministry.
