Government revives 160 posts of LGC under Andaman administration

Port Blair, Sep 4 (UNI) Ministry of Home Affairs lifted the ban on 160 posts of Lower Grade Clerk (LGC) under the Andaman and Nicobar administration.

V K Mishra, officer-in-charge of Information and Publicity Division informed the media today that an order to this effect has been conveyed to the Andaman administration by the ministry.

Initiating quick efforts to mitigate the problems for the better management of the inhabited islands and look into the process of rehabilitation and reconstruction, the Lt Governor took up the issue in April, 2007 so that the ban gets lifted at the earliest he said.

''These 160 posts could not be filled in time because of restraint orders passed by the Courts of Law on Writ Petitions. The matter was under protracted-correspondence with the Central Government at various levels,'' Mr Mishra added.
