Four chargesheeted in fake insurance claim case

Madurai, Sep 4 (UNI) The CBI filed chargesheets against four persons, including a police official, in connection with a fake insurance claim case, at a CBI Special Court here today.

The CBI sleuths had tracked a fake insurance claim case in Tiruchirapalli district involving four persons, including one Shanmugham, the then sub-inspector of police attached to Tiruverambur Police Station in Tiruchirapalli district, Subbu alias Subramanian - an advocate, his relative Pakkirisamy, a railway employee and Ms Jaya Mary.

The case pertains to a claim Ms Mary had made with the National Insurance Company, after sustaining injuries in a fall while riding a two-wheeler, a few years ago.

Though she could not claim third party insurance due to own negligence, the woman with the alleged connivance of the advocate, police official and the railway employee had made an insurance claim.
