DHVBN to add 6800 new power distribution transformers

Faridabad, Sept 4 (UNI) The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) plans to add 6800 new power distribution transformers in the existing dense network in its area and augment capacity of existing 4000 transformers, during the current financial year.

It was stated by Haryana Power Utilities Chairman Lt General O S Lohchab, after inaugurating a transformer repair workshop of DHBVN here today.

About the new transformer repair workshop, Mr Lohchab said that the workshop has a capacity of repairing 500 transformers every month. During the current year, about 5000 transformers would be repaired in this workshop helping early replacement of damaged transformers in the area.

The Chairman said that two such transformer repair workshops have been started at Hisar and Sirsa during the month of May and June respectively. Thus total capacity of repairing transformers of DHBVN has increased to 1500 per month.

He said that DHBVN has launched a crash programme for maintenance and renovation of all old distribution transformers all over its area, under which the officials have been given time bound targets.
