CM lays foundation stone for 'Nalgonda University'
Nalgonda, Sep 4 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today laid the foundation stone for the new 'Nalgonda University' building at Anneparti village of Narketpalli mandal here.
The government had allocated Rs 100 crore to complete the construction of the university campus which is spread in 325 acres.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Reddy said the government was committed to providing quality education and employment to all students who had completed their higher education.
Stating that Jawahar Knowledge Centres (JKCs) had been set up in the engineering colleges to provide skill development programmes to meet the requirements of IT companies, that were offering jobs in the state, he said ''the Congress government has helped realise the dreams of the district people by setting up the university.'' The government had also established ''21st century Gurukulams'' in some villages to provide quality education to poor students to achieve their goals in further studies.
Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy, IT Minister Damodar Reddy and Home Minister K Jana Reddy were also present.
