Chinese delegation meets K'taka Speaker
Bangalore, Sep 4 (UNI) A seven-member Chinese delegation led by Secretary of Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Central Committee of Communist Party of China (CPC) Wang Yang today called on Karnataka Assembly Speaker Krishna in his chambers.
The Speaker took them inside the Assembly hall and later hosted a lunch in their honour.
Earlier, addressing the delegation, the Speaker explained the city's rich history, measured by its impressive modernity and cosmopolitan culture. The state housed 1883 IT companies and Bangalore city was the fourth biggest IT hub in the world after Silicon Valley, Boston and London, he said.
He recalled that recent interactions during the high level exchanges between the two countries had greatly contributed to the building of mutual trust and confidence.
He hoped that the visit of this delegation would further enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between India and China, besides contributing to overall development of the country.
