Cases registerd against youth Cong leader

Puducherry, Sept 4 (UNI) Cases under section 148, 427 and 149 IPC were registered against the Puducherry Pradesh Youth Congress Committee General Secretary Santhakumar, who was suspended from the primary membership of the party for six years.

Ariyanakuppam police had registered the cases on a complaint from District Youth Congress President Kamaraj.

Santhakumar and his supporters had resorted to violence at a meeting last week to enroll new members to the party, which was attended by All India president Ashok Tanvar and other leaders, causing damages of Rs two lakhs to the marriage hall.

Folowing this Santhakumar was suspended for six years from the primary membership of the party by State President Pandiyan.
