Book on Sushilkumar Shinde released

Pune, Sep 4 (UNI) A book on the life of Union Energy Minister Sushilkumar Shinde was today released at an impressive function held at Balgandhrarva Mandir here.

The book, written by Mr Shinde's personel secretary Ravi Kiran Sane, was released by former Maharashtra minister for education Madhukarrao Chaudhary.

The 360-page book, written in Marathi brings under focus all the aspects pertaining to Mr Shinde's career over three decades from his early days before carving out a special image in the Congress fold.

Coming from backward class, Mr Shinde has seen many ups and downs in his life from early age to become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, after holding many portfolios.

A very dedicated and devoted worker of the Congress party from very early age, he was designated as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh.

Being a close confidant of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he has been entrusted with Energy portolio in the Union Cabinet of the UPA government.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP leader Gopinath Munde said if Mr Shinde had to be nominated for the President's post, even Shiv Sena would have supported his nomination. ''He is a very seasoned and experienced politician and has been respected by all political parties,'' he said.

Considering the political scenario in the state, he claimed Mr Shinde may be brought back to Maharashtra as chief minister in the future.
