Bihar Deputy CM surrenders in court, granted bail

Latehar, Sep 4 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, against whom a non-bailable warrant was issued, today surrendered before a local court and was later granted bail.

He was booked under Article 138, 171 and 447 of the Property Defacement Act in connection with the election campaign tour on February 17, 1998 of the district during unified Bihar.

As he defied repeated court notices to appear in person, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Satish Chandra had on August 20 issued non-bailable warrant against the Deputy Chief Minister.
