Bajaj Auto faces TVS's fury, receives Revocation letter
New Delhi, Sept 4:TVS Motor today said it has sent an advanced copy of Revocation Letter to Bajaj Auto.
''Bajaj Auto has received and acknowledged the receipt of the copy of Revocation Petition made by TVS Motor Company Ltd,'' patent attorneys representing TVS Motor Lakshmi Kumaran and Shreedharan said in a statement.
The Revocation letter was filed with Indian patent office on August 24.
According to the letter, TVS filed appeal in Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB) against wrongly granted DTSi patent.
Bajaj Auto has charged TVS Motors of using its patented digital twin spark technology to which latter has threatened to file suit against former for damages worth Rs 250 crore.
TVS Motors, country's third largest two wheeler company, says it has developed the engine technology that powers the Flame and Bajaj Auto's charges are 'malicious'.
TVS had filed an application with the patent authorities for the revocation of the ''so called'' patent. But Bajaj Auto claims it is neither aware of any such move nor are any discussions taking place for out-of-court settlement.
