DMK urges Govt to start MCH, engg college
Puducherry, Sep 3 (UNI) The Puducherry unit of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam today urged the administration to take immediate steps to start government-owned medical college hospital in Puducherry and an engineering college in Karaikal region this year.
A resolution to this effect was adopted at a meeting of the party office-bearers here.
Another resolution urged the administration to relax the guidelines to grant unemployment allowance for the educated unemployed youths here.
Resolutions urged the administration to take initiatives for the laying of a railway line between Karaikal and Nagore, issuance of orders for the abolition of agricultural loans, granting pension to the participants of anti-Hindi agitation, modernisation of the textile mills and employment opportunities to the local youths.

It is being alleged that the party functionaries had charged the Rangasamy Government for ignoring DMK activists in employment opportunities and welfare schemes. They had demanded taking up the issue with the Chief Minister.
Accordingly, the party legislators, led by DMK convenor R V Janakiraman, had a meeting with the Chief Minister at his office. Press was not briefed on the details of the meeting.
