CPI(M) to organise conference over Sachar committee recommendations
Bhopal, Sep 3 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh CPI(M) is organising a one-day state-level conference on September 8 over their demand regarding implementation of recommendations of the Sachar Committee.
''The conference would be inaugurated by CPI(M) MP Mohammed Salim. More than 300 representatives from various districts in the state would take part in the programme,'' state CPI(M) secretariat member Pramod Pradhan told reporters here today.
The convenor of preparation committee of the conference profersor Afaq Ahmed said the conference is aimed at evolving a strategy for implementing the recommendations of the Sachar committee besides breaking the myth of 'Muslim appeasement' being spread by some political parties.
Accusing political parties for playing politics by forming minorities cells, he said CPI (M) isintended to work over issues relating to social, educational, financial and security status of minorities.
Prof Ahmed pointed out it was the responsibility of organisations struggling for social justice to work together to achieve communal integration and development.
He described MP A R Antulay's statement regarding implementation of recommendations of the Sachar committee as insufficient and said it appeared that the Centre was merely interested in forming committees.
