Court rejects anticipatory bail of Adnan's kidnapper

Mumbai, Sep 3 (UNI) City Civil and Sessions Court Principal Judge Ashok Bhangale today rejected the anticipatory bail application of Amit Phoolchand Chaushal in the abduction and murder case of teenager Adnan Patrawala.

Judge Bhangale upheld the submission of Additional Public Prosecutor R V Kini that applicant was allegedly involved in conspiracy of abduction and murder of Adnan and had supplied the tablets, which were mixed in Adnan's alcohol by the other accused persons.

Mr Kini further submitted to the Court that the applicant himself had admitted in his statement recorded by the police that he was in the car when the deceased was kidnapped and murdered.

Sixteen-year-old Adnan was abducted from Oshiwara in western suburbs on August 19. He was allegedly strangled by his friends, who kidnapped him and demanded a ransom of Rs two crore for his release.

His body was found in Navi Mumbai.
