Badal entends greetings to people on Janamastmi eve
Chandigarh, Sep 3 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today extended warm greetings to people on the eve of sacred occasion of Janamastmi, the Birthday of Lord Krishna.
In a message, he said that Lord Krishna was an apostle of peace, saviour of Dharma and symbol of truthfulness and righteousness.
His long philosophical sermon contained in 'Srimad Bhagwat Geeta' has a profound impact on the present materialistic society and was more relevant in the modern age to attain spiritualism and eternal peace, strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and universal brotherhood, Mr Badal said.
He said that Lord Krishna's inspiring message that soul was immortal and, therefore, every human being should endeavour his utmost to fulfill his duties in life without expecting the result.
The Chief Minister appealed to the people to celebrate this sacred day in unison and with religious fervour and gaiety, rising above the petty considerations of caste, creed and religion. He exhorted them to follow the teachings of Lord Krishana so as to attain eternal peace, prosperity and happiness in life.
