Kolkata, Sep 3 (UNI) Air India will start an Express Service from October linking Kolkata with Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Dhaka, AIR India-Indian CMD V Thulasidas said here at the NSCBI Airport today.

Mr Thulasidas, who is on a tour to the eastern region, denied allegations that the area was being neglected by the national airlines. The airlines will be using Boeing 747 Jet for the express service.

AIR India is also holding talks with differnt airport authorities in Europe for establishing a hub that will cater to Air India and its partner airlines in the continent.

Although, no paricular airports have been finalised, discussions are underway with the operators of Munich, Amsterdam, and Vienna airports.

''A hub is also likely to be set up in a North American country,'' Mr Thulasidas said and added that these would provide increased and easy facilities to any passenger booked on AIR India-Indian from India.

The CMD allayed fear in a section of the allianced air personnel that ''they will be accepted as part of a set up'' and there is no question of any retrenchment.

''Air India will be utilising old Boeing Aircrafts for their fretter services in differnct parts of the country,'' Mr Thulasidas added.
