Uniform entry tax to benefit Karnataka Tourism
Mysore, Sep 2: The consensus on uniform entry tax for tourist vehicles among South Indian states has brightend the prospects of the tourism industry in Karnataka, especially here, which was hit badly by a steep hike in levy on tourists vehicles entering the State.
Ever since the Government increased the tax from April this year, each tourist was required to pay Rs 330, as against the earlier Rs 110. Hence, the number of tourists visiting the State from Tamil Nadu and Kerala have declined considerably, leading to widespread concern in tourism circles.
