Panchayat election campaigns in full swing in Manipur

Imphal, Sep 2 (UNI) Campaigns for the Panchayat elections in Manipur, scheduled to be held on Septembr 19, are at peak.

Official sources said here today that about 1,513 candidates, including 327 for 61 Zilla Parishads and 558 for 122 Pradhan seats, are in the fray.

The panchayat elections will be held at Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal and Bishenpur districts with 33 per cent reservation for women, official sources added.
