One dies, 4 ill after having Mid Day Meal food

Amethi, Sultanpur, Sep 2 (UNI) A child died, while another four took severely ill after having food received under the Mid Day Meal Anganbari Yojnas in Amethi parliamentary constituency.

DM Sanjay Kumar said the incident occurred yesterday at village Sariya, where five children turned critically ill after consuming food at Khopur primary school.

The school had reportedly received the foodgrain under the Mid Day Meal and Anganbari Yojnas.

The affected children had been admitted to the community heath centre, Amethi.

Investigations were underway.
