Floods: All party delegation from K'taka to meet PM soon: CM

Mysore, Sep 2 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumraswamy today said that an all party delegation from the state would meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh soon to seek funds for the flood relief in the state.

Speaking to newspersons at helipad here he said that he would be visiting Delhi for two days from September nine and he would Dr Singh and Home Minister to fix a date for the meeting. The state had badly suffered due to severe floods following heavy rains all over many district in the state.

He said the transfer of Chief Minister's post to BJP on October three would not be a problem.

On his overnight stay in a city slum tonight nights, he said he was perturbed that the poor living in slums remained in those places for years and there was no improvement in their living conditions for a long time.

"Without a house or basic amenities they pull along their life.

My government want to provide homes to as many slum dwellers as possible. We are doing our maximum to do his under various projects including JNNURM," he said.

Replying to a question on poll understanding in the coming local body elections, he said his party was ready for such understanding.

However, it would be left to the leaders in the local level, he said.

The chief minister arrived in the city on a two-day visit to Mysore and Chamarajanagara districts and participate in many programmes at Gundlupet, Hunsur and in this city.
