Kolhapur, Sep 2 (UNI) Maharashtra NCP unit president Arun Gujrathi today charged the Congress with 'deceiving' his party in the recently held Mira-Bhayendar civic elections.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Gujrathi said the NCP waited long for Congress to respond but they did not receive any message from them and hence his party forged an alliance with Shiv Sena. To hide its mistakes, the Congress has been making wrong allegations against the NCP, he charged. The Congress had won the elections.

Referring to dispute between two NCP leaders -- MP Sadashivrao Mandlik and state School Education Minister Hassan Mushrif (both from Kolhapur district), Mr Gujarathi admitted that he had no success in settling the matter between them.

The dispute arose between Mandlik-Mushrif over a local issue, hence both leaders were advised to settle the dispute amicably in the interest of the party, he said.

If the dispute persists, then the party high command will appoint a five-member committee to study the matter and submit its report.

Based on the report, necessary action will be taken, he said.
