BJP leader M A Naqvi elected member of Court of AMU

New Delhi, Sep 2 (UNI) Mr Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, a BJP member of the Rajya Sabha, has been elected member of the Court of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), it was announced here today.

The announcement was made by the Secretariat of the Rajya Sabha, which had adopted a motion on August 23 on the matter and was followed by the election on August 31.

''I am directed to inform you that in pursuance of a Motion adopted by Rajya Sabha on the 23rd August, 2007 on the subject mentioned above (election to the AMU) and the election process initiated pursuant thereto, you have been duly elected to be a member of the Court of the Aligarh Muslim University on the 31st August, 2007,'' Rajya Sabha Joint Director A K Gandhi said in a message to Mr Naqvi.
