Badal inagurates Onam festival in Ludhiana
Ludhiana, Sep 2 (UNI) Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today inaugurated the Onam festival organised by Kerala Kalvedi- a cultural organization of Keralites at Sacred Heart Convent School here.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr Badal extended warm facilitations to the Keralities and said that we should be proud of our rich and multi-dimensional cultural heritage that was acting as a catalyst to strengthen the bonds of unity, integrity, universal brotherhood and communal harmony.
He said that such functions reflect our ethos of diversity in unity. The Chief Minister said that all should celebrate such festivals with great enthusiasm and fervour rising above the petty considerations of colour, caste, creed and religion.
The Chief Minister added that the state government was fully committed to ensure congenial atmosphere to instill a homely feeling in every person who had migrated to Punjab from any part of the country. He also assured to consider the demand of Kerla Kalvdei for the construction of a community hall.
He also announced a grant of Rs five lakh for the association.
