Teacher accused of running sex racket in school terminated
New Delhi, Sep 1 (UNI) Uma Khurana, the Mathematics teacher at the Government Sarvodaya Girls Senior Secondary School on Asaf Ali Road who was accused of running a sex racket involving school students, was today terminated from service by the Delhi Government.
Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely issued orders for termination of Uma Khurana, a resident of Yojana Vihar in East Delhi, after the two member committee set up to probe the case, submitted a report to the Minister in the case.
The teacher at the Sarvodaya School had been suspended by the Delhi Government after a sting operation run by a news channel caught her 'red handed on camera' trading a student. Angry agitators damaged dozens of vehicles on Thursday after footage of the sting operation was aired by the channel.
Police yesterday arrested the government school teacher from her Yojana Vihar residence. She was arrested under the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act and sent to two-day police custody after being presented in a local court.
