SIT registers cases against HUJI Chief Bilal, 15 others

Hyderabad, Sep 1 (UNI) The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the twin blasts that rocked the city on August 25, today registered cases against Harkat-Ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI) leader Shahed alias Bilal, one of the alleged mastermind behind the blasts and another 15 persons in connection with the case.

According to police sources here, the SIT had made considerable progress in the investigation and cases were booked against 15 persons.

Meanwhile, over 20 other persons, including four Pakistani and two Bangladeshi citizens, overstaying in the city since two years, were picked up.

The cases were booked against Shohaib Jagirdar, one of the accused in fake passport case, Sameer alias Nayeem, accused in Samjhauta Express blast case and fake passport case, the sources said.

Cases were also booked against Abu Hamja, Khader, Khaja, Kalim, Majid, Ajij Ul Hak, Tanveer, Imran, Rafiuddin and Majnu, who had alleged links with the ISI and other international terrorist organisations.

Some persons were arrested and being interrogated by the police to ascertain their involvement in the blasts.

Meanwhile, the SIT was also analysing the narco analysis test conducted on Sameer and Shoaib Jagirdar.

Narco analysis tests would be conducted on other persons, who were arrested on charge of suspected links with terrorist organisations, the police said.

Four Pakistani and Bangladeshi terrorists brought ten kg of RDX to the city on February, 2007 and used it for explosion at Mecca Masjid on May 18, sources added.
